Vaidisova won a match six months ago...

I know that's not exactly news, but today she did it again. She had a 2-6 6-4 6-4 win over Hungarian Katalin Marosi at the rather modest Al Habtoor Tennis Challenge in Dubai, where everything is rather modest these days. The former world number 7 and, judging by the picture, former blonde was a set and 3-0 down, so obviously there's some fight in her yet.

ITF unbans the ban

The ITF has authorized Yanina Wickmayer's return to tennis.
Wickmayer has already received a wildcard from the WTA tournament in Auckland and is hoping for another one for the AusOpen.

Xavier Malisse hasn't received any wildcards yet. It is unclear if Malisse is also authorized to play.

Belgian Court Suspends Bans for Wickmayer and Malisse

A Belgian court has suspended the one-year bans handed to Belgian tennis players Yanina Wickmayer and Xavier Malisse for missing drug tests.

Wickmayer, a semifinalist at the U.S. Open, hopes to receive a wildcard for the Australian Open.

The Belgian judge ruled that the bans violated the European Convention on Human Rights.

Non-Fat Dave & The Finnish South American Part II

Nalbandian vs. Gaudio 6-2 6-2. Non-Fat Dave lost a total of 7 games in his first two matches since his operation. Not bad, against a former Olympic champion and a Roland Garros winner.

(That's meant to be a joke, btw)

Fat Dave & the Finnish South Americans

In his first match since May David Nalbandian defeated Nicolás Massú 6-2 6-1. At the same exhibition tournament Gaston Gaudio beat Guillermo Cañas 7-5 6-4. Nalbandian and Gaudio play each other later.
An interview with Fat Dave in which he claims he's Fat Dave no more.
